He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ahlschwede and Luise Ahlschwede; his wife Mavis Ponto of Blanchard, ND.; his siblings, Esther, Irvin, Leonard, Roy, Walt, Lloyd, Hulda (Biel), Martha (Odden) and Myrtle (Bergmann); and his son-in-law JD Funches.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra Mulvaney (Roger) of Valley City, ND, Janice Funches of Hillsboro, ND and LuAnn Wee (Don) of Clarkston, WA; his grandchildren, Rory Mulvaney, Jenelle Mulvaney, Ann Funches Stancil, Ellen Funches, Lindsey Wee, Sara Wee (Chris Schillinger) and Brett Wee; and his siblings-in-law, Helen Ahlschwede and Nils Buringrud. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
