It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Lorraine Smith of West Fargo, North Dakota, who passed away on November 7, 2020, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Elaine Gerk; and her sister Carolyn Gerk. She is survived by: her husband David Smith; her father Donald Gerk; her siblings, Richard Gerk (Carol), Nancy Grothe (Gary) and Judy Hansen (David); her friend Violet Thum; her children, Jefferson Vargas (Angie), Brian O. Vargas and Tatianna Smith (Shawn); and her grandchildren, Sansa, Sorin and Sofia.
The family has requested donations to HERO Fargo: Healthcare Equipment Recycling because she always said that flowers felt like a funeral.
