He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Nelson and Irene Nelson; his wife Lois; and his brother Rudale (Arlene). He is survived by: his children, Kimberly (Rick), Dale (Jodi) and Dean (Lynda); his grandchildren, Kami (Jeff), Brady (Sarah), Paydon, Cordel and Nolan; and his great grandchildren, Kelson and Kaseton.

Memorial Contribution Memorials will be distributed to the Roosevelt Medical Foundation or the Froid Congregate Meals in Montana.
