She was predeceased by: her parents, Thorvald Marsten and Emma Marsten (Berg) of Watford City; her siblings, Ragna, Edna, Ruby and Thorleif; her husband Walter Hovet; her sons, Kurt Hovet and Michael Hovet; and her grandson Cory Prestangen.
She is survived by: her children, Sonja Prestangen (Einar) of Watford City, ND, Beverly Ashley (Duane) of Williston, ND, Cynthia Rust of Williston, ND, Myron Hovet (Marcia) of Watford City, ND, Randolph Hovet (Vickie) of Charlo Montana, Rebecca Neuman (Andrew) of Drumheller Alberta, Steven Hovet (Paula) of Greenville, SC and Timothy Hovet of Bismarck, ND; her daughters-in-law, Rita Hovet of Watford City, ND and Linda Hovet of Colorado Springs, CO; and her sister Agnes Winden of Bismarck, ND. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home (304 4th Ave NE, Watford City, ND 58854). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (304 4th Ave NE, Watford City, ND 58854). Born at the end of World War I during the Spanish Flu pandemic, growing up during the Depression, raising her own family during World War II, and serving a community as her family grew.
