He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Carignan and Jennie Carignan (Koropatnicki); his wife Rosanna Brusseau; and his siblings, Melvin Carignan and Rita Zaharia.

He is survived by: his children, Roxanne Gapp (Wayne) of Wahpeton, ND, Randy Carignan (Bonnie) of Walhalla, ND, Renae Carpenter (Jeff) of Thompson, ND, Roger Carignan of Walhalla, ND and Russell Carignan (Kellie) of Grafton, ND; and his siblings, Doreen Dettler, Louis Carignan (Lorna), Jerry Carignan (Annette), Larry Carignan (Colleen), Diane Melton (Pat), Corriene Miner (Dennis) and Connie Eagan (Cece Kryzsko). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
