He is survived by: his spouse Ivy Thompson; his children, Gail Kartes (Guy Johnson) of Edinburg, ND, Doris Hancock (Donn) of Emerado, ND, Dan Kartes of Langdon, ND, Chuck Kartes (Suzy) of Edinburg, ND and Carla Kartes-Hiller of West Fargo, ND.; and his siblings, Gloria Johnson of Langdon, ND, Ben of Seattle, WA., Gary of Seattle, WA. and Lee of Seattle, WA.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
