He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Ward and Myrtle Ward (Larsen); his wife Pat Mergens (Mergens) of St. Paul, MN.; and his siblings, Elwood, Warren, Lester, Ralph, Roy, Donald, Grace and Marion.
He is survived by: his sons, David (Cindy) of Wahpeton, ND., Steven (Lorrie) of Westminster, CO. and Kevin (Gina) of Independence, MN; and his grandchildren, Chelby (Zac), Paige, Chantelle, Ryan Brown, Juliana and Antonio.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to United Church of Christ or Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton.
