He is survived by: his wife Carole Melcher; his daughter Kally Glander (John) of Wahpeton, ND; his grandchild Breinne Schlagel (Justin); his great grandchild Thomas of Britton, SD; his daughter-in-law Janet McMullin of Fargo, ND; his grandson-in-law Chad Hingst (Kate); and his brothers, Roger Hingst of Minot, ND and Lee Hingst (Edna) of Silver Lake, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
