He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gilles and Theresa Gilles; and his brothers, Merrill Gilles, Michael Gilles, Marion Gilles, Lambert Gilles and Tony Gilles.
He is survived by: his wife Jane; his children, Laurie Straus (Bill), Lacey Hodny (Jake), Lauren Lemer (Brock), Mary Schmidt (Darryl) of Bismarck, ND, Sandy Korinek (David) of Gary, SD, Kelly Gilles (Lisa), Sydney Mandour (Adam), Christopher Patton (Hunter), Aren O'Kelso, Cole Gilles, Beau Gilles, Emily Braught, Barry Gilles (Adella) and Stacy Brandner (Tim); his sister Theresa Kubela; and his siblings-in-law, Audrey Gilles, Angeline Gilles, Florence Peterson (Ken) and Jim Rowland (Rita). He is also survived by Mentor, MN and their children, Kennedy, Maggie and Arleigh; Aimee (Kyle) DeVries, Wahpeton, and their children, Jacob and Jackson; five great-grandchildren.
