He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schmaltz and Barbara Schmaltz (Jundt); his siblings, Barbara Gerger, Margaret Bischoff, Katherine Lindeman, George Schmaltz, Joe Lindeman and Mike Schmaltz; and his siblings-in-law, Benno Lauinger, James Duchscher, Barney Bischoff, John Gerger and Norma Schmaltz.
He is survived by: his siblings, Edward Schmaltz, Teresa Lauinger and Mary Duchscher; and his sisters-in-law, Caroline Schmaltz and Betty Lindeman. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
