She was predeceased by: her parents, John Jewett and Winnifred Jewett (Farrell); her brother Norman Jewett; her parents-in-law, Harvey Gierke and Elsie Avery; her son-in-law Keith Kearns; and her aunt Elva Dittmer.
She is survived by: her husband Harry Gierke of Savior's Lutheran Church; her children, Larry Gierke (Janet), Debra Lindemann (Jerry), Diana Mittleider and Linda Hoffman-Gierke (Mike Brown); her grandchildren, Shane Kearns (Tiffany), Michael Hoffman, Melissa Pham, Melissa Wall (Monty), Ashley Horner (Nick), Katie Jo Selfridge (Chris), Cassie Hoffman and Samantha Lang (Justin); and her sister Shirley Bailey. She is also survived by 16 Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel (515 Central Ave N, Valley City, ND 58072). A prayer was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
