It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Nathan of Turtle Lake, North Dakota, born in Martin, North Dakota, who passed away on August 15, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian Knodel and Anna Knodel (Schaefer); her husband Paul Orval Nelson; and her son Calvin Nelson. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Chellee Presser (Jim), Jerali Miller (Darin), Toni Hirschkorn (David), Jason Nelson, Angela Kraft (Curt), Joseph Childs (Jennifer), Julie Cunningham, Paul Nelson (Heather), Seth Nelson (Erika), Jessica Kratz (Wil), Brandon Nelson (Elena), Natalie Nelson, Dylan Nelson, Mike Nelson (Melissa), Brad Nelson (McKenzie), Nelson Helland (Crystle), Sam Helland (Olivia) and Parker Helland; her great grandchildren, Kyler, Kohl Miller, Hailee, Ashlee Presser, Marcus Hirschkorn, Candice Jesser, Levi Kraft, Matthew Childs, Kathryn Childs, Rachel Childs, Benjamin Childs, Samantha Childs, Hugo Nelson, Jillian Nelson, Mavrick Nelson, Maksim Nelson, Makynna Nelson, Kashtyn Nelson, Chasee Nelson, Daysi Nelson, Bodie Nelson and Ledger Helland; and her sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Nelson (Neil), Betty Nathan (Herbert), Ardis Nathan (Dale), Karyn Nathan (Robert) and Joan Knodel (Dave). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
