He was predeceased by: his wife Paulette Boe; his brother Bob Bergquist; his brother-in-law Clarence Goehring; and his great grandchild Ryatt Hayes Alyea. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Lelm (Lonnie) and David Bergquist (Lee) of Turtle Lake; his grandchildren, Justine Yutrzenka (Lucas), Landen Lelm (Samantha), Natalie Bergquist, Abbie Bergquist and Troy Bergquist; his great grandchildren, Layton Lelm and Irene Yutrzenka; and his sister Barb Goehring of Jamestown, ND. He is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews.
