Richard Irvan Gunter Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 25, 2024, at the age of 90, Richard Irvan Gunter of Towner, North Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his siblings, Larry, Betty Lou Kliegle (Ralph P.) and Ruth Brua (Robert); his grandson Bryce Huffstuttler; his in-laws, Emil and Alphina Mahle; and his brother-in-law Duane Mahle.

He is survived by: his parents, Irvan Gunter and Myrtle Gunter (Nelson); his significant other Alice Mahle; his grandfather Grampy; his grandchildren, Elliot Miller (Tabitha), Rebecca Miller (Craig Johnston), Matthew Miller (Amy), Derek Gunter (Naemi), Nathan Gunter, Lexi Dvorak (Danny), Courtney Marshall (Lane), Hanna, Avery Huffstuttler, Joey Stapleton, Cristian Fougner, Gavin Haman, Alivia Johnston, Evie, Barrett Miller, Vivian Cavazos, Jackson, Evelyn Gunter, Ryder, Trigg and Marshall; his sister Sharon Wise (Virgil) of Corpus Christi; his sister-in-law Jane Gunter of Edinburg; and also, Lauri Miller (Ron) of McVille, Dwight Gunter (Joan) of Towner, Daniel Gunter (Theresa) of Towner, Lisa Huffstuttler (Brad) of Crockett, Texas, Grant, River and Violet Miller.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Dakota Territory Air Museum, Injured Military Wildlife Project of North Dakota, Towner Ambulance, or Heart of America Medical Center Hospice.
