He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Nehring; his sister Joan Chrest; his children, Timothy Nehring (Steven Rieske) and Tammie Thorsen (Greg); his granddaughters, Hannah Thorsen and Haley Chartrand (Danys); and his great grandchild Gemma Grace Chartrand.
