It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maurice W. Stansbury Jr. (Thompson, North Dakota), who passed away on July 8, 2019, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Stansbury and JoAnne Stansbury; and his brother-in-law Charles Gardner. He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his daughters, DeAnna Koller and Mikela Stansbury; his stepsons, Devin, Adam and Kyle Monson; his grandchildren, Christian Bakalars-Koller, Ethan, Sophia Bushman and Aelita Monson; his brother Fred Stansbury; his father-in-law Les; and his siblings-in-law, Cindy Gardner, Candice Lankford (Bill), Nancy Neumann and Mark Slettebak (Jody). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and numerous close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buxton, Petersburg City Cemetery, Petersburg, ND or the Grand Forks Veteran Park.

“I am very sorry for your lost. I was assigned to the same unit as Maurice from 2007-2008 while at Grand Forks AFB. He was a true friend and mentor. I miss our Friday lunch runs in the gym where we would talk about anything and everything. I've always missed those days. I will always remember him as a person who was passionate about everything that got his attention. Rest in Peace Chief!”
