It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen Lynn Mathiason of Thompson, North Dakota, born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, who passed away on September 9, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Ysen and Deloris Ysen (Hoff); her husband Steven Mathiason; her brother-in-law Rich Hadley; her uncle Leroy Weber; her sister Kathy Stenen; her aunts, Geraldine Morrison and Darlene Harms; and her uncle Gordon Weber.
She is survived by: her sons, Chris Mathiason (Kera) and Chad Mathiason (Jessica); her grandchildren, Chayse, Berklee, Skotlyn, Aidan and Corbin; her siblings-in-law, Diane Yoder, Karen Freeman, Rita Hadley and Paul Mathiason (Diane); and her aunts and uncles, Steve Hoff (Bonnie), Pat Morrison, Toky Weber and Kazuko Weber.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Walle Lutheran Church or Circle of Friends Animal Shelter in Grand Forks, ND.
