She was predeceased by: her parents, Elbridge Mattern and Viola Mattern (Armstrong); her husband Robert L. Aschenbrenner; her daughter Patricia; her great grandchild Gracelyn Nicholle Aschenbrenner; her siblings, Orville Mattern, Lois Horst (Wesley) and Ardis Heimbush (William); and her brother-in-law Lowell Sannes.
She is survived by: her children, James Aschenbrenner of Cameron Park, CA, Mike Aschenbrenner (Lori Tickerhoof) of Surrey, ND, Julie Aschenbrenner (John Quagliano) and Mary Dunkel (Mike); her grandchildren, Everett, Rachel, Kyle (Mallori), Bryce (Jill), Lynne (Dave), Brittany (Bryan), Chelsey (James) and Dylan; her great grandchildren, Blair, Gavin, Bennett, Carter, Hayes and Beau; her siblings, Ray Mattern (Marlyn) and Darlene Sannes; and her sister-in-law Norma Mattern of Bottineau, ND. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elsie later entered Minot Health and rehab, where she received wonderful care from the staff, especially Lori Tickerhoof, who was able to keep her connected to relatives during the Covid-19 times.
