He was predeceased by: his father Alvin Spitzer; his sister Carol Spitzer; his parents-in-law, Floyd Larson and Gladys Larson; his siblings-in-law, Sandra Coy and Simon Anderson; and his nephew Zachariah Anderson.
He is survived by: his spouse Elizabeth Dusterhoft; his daughters, Brittany and Brooke; his wife Joyce; his child Chad Spitzer (Elaine); his grandchildren, Cole Settel of Minneapolis, MN, Abbigail Dunn, Isabelle Dunn of Moorhead, MN, Brittany Dunn (Jason), Rocco, Raleigh Boeshans of West Fargo, ND, Kade, Kinley of Center, ND. and Kylynn of Center, ND.; his mother Olga Spitzer; his siblings, Larry Spitzer, Sharon Anderson and Wanda Spitzer; and also, Bridgette Settel (Matthew) and Brooke Boeshans (Ryan). He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
