He is survived by: his wife Pat (Frederick); his children, Steve Lautenschlager (Brenda), Scott Lautenschlager (Chelly) and Renae Thiel (Duc); his brother Hank Lautenschlager (Arene Grubb); and his grandchildren, Alex Lautenschlager (Krista), Tyler Lautenschlager (Ryan Walter), Ben Lautenschlager, Ethan Lautenschlager (Mercedes), Madison Kjer, Charlie Kjer, Dodie Renner (Dennis), Kacey Cope (Ryan Young), Tyler Thiel (Ashey), Shayna Rognlien (Jared), Jenna Snyder (Vernon), Kyli Drosdal (Drew) and Kori Taylor (Ty). He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
