He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Gus Johnson and Elsie Mae Robinson; his wife Florence Johnson; his close friend Daisy; his daughter Tammy Hamers; his sons-in-law, Brian Hamers and Arlan Ostdahl; his grandson-in-law Craig Skaar; and his siblings, Leonard, Lindfred, Betty, Marvena, Richard, Omar and Barb.
He is survived by: his children, Joann Ostdahl of Stanley, ND, Diann Dunham (Walt) of Palermo, ND, Chester Allen Johnson (Jill) of Stanley, ND and Kevin Johnson (Darlene) of Minot, ND.; and his sisters-in-law, Darlene Bruhn, Martha Bruhn and Darlene Ellis (Dale) of Minot, ND.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Springan Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel (120 12th Ave SE, Stanley, ND 58784). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church.
