Kenneth Lewis Obituary
Kenneth C. Lewis 79, of Sheldon, died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born on February 14, 1938, the son of Kenneth and Kathryn (Griffin) Lewis in Forman, North Dakota. He was raised on the family farm and educated in Cogswell, North Dakota. As a young man he moved to Indiana for a year before returning to North Dakota to work for area farmers.
He eventually worked and lived with Bert and Virginia Ihme for a number of years. Linda and Jeffrey Ihme considered Ken their brother. Ken was united in marriage to Janet Newton on July 8, 1960 and they made their home in Sheldon. He drove a cream truck for a short time before starting his career with the Sheldon Public School System, where he was custodian and a bus driver until his retirement in 2003.
Ken enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching the Yankees, Vikings, Bison and all-star wrestling. He also enjoyed doing yardwork for his yard and the many other yards he took care of. Ken will be remembered as an honest and hardworking man. Ken is survived by his wife, Janet Lewis of Sheldon, two daughters , Laurie Lewis of Sheldon, ND and Terry Hartl of Lisbon, ND; son, K.C. (Kathy) Lewis of Sheldon, ND; five grandchildren, Brandon and Dillon Hartl, Sara (Eric) Vangness, Lori (Ryan) Huber and Carmen Bartholomay; six great-grandchildren; brother, Rodney (Sheila) Lewis of Anchorage, AK; sisters, Kay (Merlin) Bjorke of Roseville, MN; Jacqueline (Kent) Lamb of St. Paul, MN; Lucille Ann (Gary) Saewert of Tucson, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sandra Schultz and brother, James Lewis.
