He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Fritel and Catherine Fritel (Brossart); his brothers, Edward and Ernest Fritel; and his in-laws, Janice Fritel, Vincent Bachmeier and Richard Heilman.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Ann Schumacker of Rugby; his children, Randy Fritel (Lynette) of Rolette, Renee of Apache Junction, Mark Fritel (Colleen) of Ardoch and Dean Fritel (Ali) of Eagle, Idaho; his grandchildren, Travis Fritel (Kristina) of Westhope, Ashley Moore (Brandon) of Sidney, Gretchen Fritel of Bismarck, Jodee Fritel of Fargo, Coston, Chaz and Contessa Fritel of Eagle, Idaho; his great grandchildren, Kaden, Briggs and Rhett Fritel of Westhope; his siblings, Joseph Fritel (Naomi) of Rugby, Frank Fritel of Devils Lake, Beatrice Bachmeier of Casselton, Elsie Leonard (Harvey) of Rolette, Marjorie Heilman of Rugby, Fredrick Fritel (Jacqueline) of Valley City, Raymond Fritel (Judith) of Waco and Katherine Hagel (Douglas) of Billings, Montana; and his sisters-in-law, Patricia Fritel and Debbie Fritel. He is also survived by siblings; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Anderson Funeral Homes (119 3rd St SW, Rugby, ND 58368). A rosary was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Follow Outside the Church. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Little Flower Catholic Church (218 3rd St SE, Rugby, ND 58368).
