He was predeceased by: his great grandchild Henry Burgard; and his siblings, Mike Burgard, Julia Thomas (Mike), Frances Bachmeier (Pete), Tillie Penzkover (Vern), Pauline Lithun (Edwin), Mary Schneider (Joe), Betty Morgan (Al), Magdelina Woitte (Lester) and Vernie Keller (Leo).

He is survived by: his wife Betty Senger; his children, Joe (Nancy) of Jamestown, Ken (Peggy) of Rugby, Doug (Sue) of Dickinson, Deb Schneibel (Randy) of Oxbow and Pete (Kim) of Orrin; his grandchildren, Angie Jelinek (Jason), Andy Burgard (Jennifer), Nathan Burgard (Michelle), Michelle Malchow (Dave), Ryan Schneibel (Jessica), Jeremy Burgard (Kari), Caleb Burgard (Candice), Tyler Burgard, Travis Burgard and Mindy Stier (Trent Johnson); his sisters, Margaret Fettig, Barbara Wolf and Catherine Lemer (Lawrence); and his sister-in-law Lena Burgard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
