She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian Mitzel and Anna Mitzel (Miller); her husband Emil Burgard; her son Timothy; her sons-in-law, Lawrence Kitzman and Bryan Miller; her stepgrandson Dave Larsen Jr.; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Everly Mosbrucker and Asher Mosbrucker; and her siblings, Clement, Mike, Richard, Rose Koble and Tillie Schmaltz.

She is survived by: her children, Larry of Grand Forks, Lloyd (Karen) of Grand Forks, Deb Jacobson (Russ) of Rugby, Randy (Mary) of Anamoose, Ron of Rugby, Rose Kitzman of Grand Rapids, Joe (Sharon) of Gwinner, Frank (Sue) of Minot, Yvonne Larsen (Dave) of Grand Forks, Carol Miller of Cape Coral and Val Burgard of Jamestown; her siblings, Fran Weinand of Long Beach, California, Cecelia Bruner of Drake, Opal Bachmeier of Fargo, Joe Mitzel (Carol) of Minot, Rita Schiele (Louie) of Velva, Leo Mitzel (Judy) of Graham, Eddy Mitzel (Elaine) of Arlington, Gerald Mitzel (Bernie) of Rugby and Brad Mitzel (Deb) of Elizabeth City; and her sons, Emil Jr. (MaryLou) of Wheatland, Jeff Honorary Bearers of Phoenix and Friends. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren.
