He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Johnson and Margaret Johnson (Berg); his siblings, Donald, LeRoy, Shirley Walker and Carol Johnson; his brothers-in-law, Warren Walker and Dan Polk; and his parents-in-law, Ed and Helen Hilzendager.

He is survived by: his significant other JoAnn Hilzendager of Rugby; his significant other's children, Travis, Trent, Tanner and Tasha; his children, Travis (Nikki) of Grand Forks, Trent, Mindy of Rugby, Tanner (Carlie) of Rugby and Tasha Kotrba (Mitch) of Warren, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Jacob, Isaac (Aubrey), Ben, Will Johnson, Emily Knutson (Eric), Sara Stier (Wyatt), Anni Stier, Jenner, Livvy, Thea Johnson, Kyden and Kilah Jo Kotrba; his siblings, Ed Johnson (Dana) of Towner and Marilyn Polk of Bismarck; his sister-in-law Muriel Johnson of Rugby; his parents-in-law, Gary Hilzendager (Ester), Shirley Blomster (Dick) and Renae Lenertz (Dean); and his grandchildren, Wyatt Hanson and Aubrey Rolland. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
