He is survived by: his wife Katie of Minot; his children, Mark Hagel (Karen) of Garrison, Colleen Burau (Jerry) of Cary, Odell Hagel (Jan Hamilton) of Bismarck and Karen Ploof (John) of Minot; his grandchildren, Kelly Hagel (Kim), Kirk Hagel (Michelle), Kyle Hagel (Katie Fokken), Caitlin White (Forrest) and Mackenzie Ploof; his great grandchildren, Nick, Liz Hagel, Reese White and Henry; and his siblings, Raphael "Ray" and Irene Feist (Bennie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
