She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Barney Asleson Avens and Vida Alma Avens (Robinson); her husband James E. Mears; her daughter Jane Braaten; and her grandson Randy James Braaten.
She is survived by: her daughters, Judy Holliday of Montesano and Betty Triplett of Rugby; her grandchildren, Larry Braaten (Sheila), Brian Braaten (Julie), BJ DeHerrera (Randy), Shannon Holliday, Ryan Holliday, Jason Triplett (Heidi), Kal Triplett (Lindsay) and Kurt Triplett (Jena); her son-in-law Gene Braaten; and her sister-in-law Luella Avens. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
