He is survived by: his wife Marlene Tuchscherer; his son Isaac Schaan (Kory); his grandchildren, Phoenix, Brian, Skyla of Fargo and Brenna Schmitt of Rochester, MN; his son Riley Schaan (Erin); his grandchildren, Caleb of Balta, Meagan of Balta, Isaiah of Balta and Mckenna of Balta; his son Blake Schaan (Heather); his grandchildren, Parker of Harvey, Collin of Harvey, Bentley of Harvey, Gracie of Harvey, Beckett of Harvey and Isabelle of Harvey; his son Brett Schaan of Los Angeles, CA; and his siblings, Roselyn Aipperspach (James) of Des Moines, IA, Mark Schaan (Sue) of Rugby, Susan Sudholt (Rick) of Liberty, MO, Steve Schaan (Peg) of Fargo, Joyce Johansen (Rich McSorley) of Hope, Walter Schaan of Bismarck, Paul Schaan (Jodi) of Rugby, Terri Wald (Tim) and John Schaan Jr. of Bismarck. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
