With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ilene Schimmelpfennig of Rugby, North Dakota, who passed away on October 8, 2021 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nels Opstedal and Lenora Opstedal (Kittleson). She is survived by: her former spouses, John Deibert and Kelley Hamilton; her husband Larry Schimmelpfennig; her children, Mark Hamilton (Sue), Renee Leitzke (Steve), Rochelle Caster (Mark), Charles Hamilton, Travis Hamilton (Chantel) and Julie Hamilton (Mike); her stepdaughters, Debbie Lagman (Tante) of Blaine, Becky Burks (Jeff) of Cheney, Washington and DeeDee Sauer (Craig); and her siblings, Arlan Opstedal (Luanne) of Minneapolis, MN and Layne Opstedal (Rochelle).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot, Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch or organization of the donor's choice.
