She was predeceased by: her husband Simon Whalen (Sie); her son Kelly Whalen; her parents, Dirvin Bowersox and Freda Bowersox; her siblings, Jean Straabe (Ted), Joyce Jenssen (Harold), Patricia Meyer (Frank), Joan Strand (Galen), Richard Bowersox and Jack; her nephews, Mike Strand and Gary Meyer; and her grandson Dustin Vallier.
She is survived by: her children, Theresa Haagenson (Lowell) of Leeds, ND, Steven Whalen (Cindy Smith) of Leeds, ND, Danny Whalen (Diane) of York, ND and Carrie Vallier (Doug) of York, ND; and her grandchildren, Lindsey Albert (Jason), Leigh Haagenson (Beth), Desiree Melville (Clint), Jessie Whalen (Christy), Kristen Jacobson (Jeff), Dusty Nystrom (Glenn), Kelsey Siegler (Josh), Jason Vallier and Sadie Kleppen (Jordan). She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
