He was predeceased by: his granddaughters, Madison Johnson and Kathryn Grassel; his parents, Frank Brossart and Elizabeth Brossart; and his brothers, Jacob and Valentine Brossart.

He is survived by: his wife Isabel Walter; his children, Steve Brossart of Rugby, ND, Sam Brossart (Renae) of Rugby, ND, Gerry Brossart (Dawn) of Audubon, MN, Sharon Grassel (Keith) of Elk River, MN, Shirley Johnson of Moorhead, MN, JoAnn Teets (Trent) of West Fargo, ND, Suzy Kraft (Gary) of Rugby, ND and Dan Brossart (Jen) of Rugby, ND.; his grandchildren, Gary, Scott (Hannah), Andy (Katryna), Jordan, Kristina Brossart, Nikki Willett, Dustin (Alicia), Blake Brossart, Garrett, Lexa Brossart, Danielle Jerome (Peter), Kayden Grassel, Maxwell (Libby), Weston, Kendall, Carter Johnson, Brandon Dietz (Miranda), Ben (Kelsey), Bethany Teets, Sydney Kuntz (Jacob), Noah Kraft, Jackson and Sawyer Brossart; his great grandchildren, Reese Brossart, Addison, Gavin, Harper Willett, Myah, Nevaeh Brossart, Soren, Wylie Brossart, Eva Jerome, Norah, Josie Johnson, Easton Teets and Charlie Dietz; and his sisters, Francis Schneider of Rugby, ND and Genny Koble (Mike) of Towner, ND.. He is also survived by his children, 23 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 heavenly grandchildren.
