He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Hornstein and Agatha Hornstein (Axtman); his stepson Jason Tessmann; and his brother-in-law Rick Gulstad. He is survived by: his wife Candace Feickert; his daughter Kyla Rand (Kyle) of Grand Forks, ND; his stepdaughter Stacey Tessmann; his grandchildren, Meranda Schmaltz, Mark Bercier and Wyatt Schmaltz; and his sisters, Deanna Hamel (Jon), Elizabeth Sauer (Dick), Colette Hanson (Dick), JeanAnn Hager (Delwyn), Cindy Nelson (Dave) and Terri Gulstad. He is also survived by many nieces nephews and other relatives.
