He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Gustafson and Malvine Gustafson (Delbeke); his wife Betty James; his sons, Marvin and Earl; and his siblings, Lawrence, LeRoy, Donald, Bernard, Leo Gustafson and Deanna Christianson.
He is survived by: his children, Darrel Gustafson (Janine) of St. John, ND, Peggy Gustafson of El Paso, TX, Jane Sivertson (Ross) of St. John, ND and Denise Geritz (Dale) of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Bridget Gustafson of Souris, ND, Lloyd Matthew Sivertson (Nicole) of St. John, ND, Callie Bryant (Tyler) of St. John, ND, Jacob Geritz of Sioux Falls, SD, Alex Geritz (Sierra) of Hutchinson, MN and Clayton Gustafson of St. John, ND; his sisters, Doreen Hudson, Judith Whisman (Doug) and Dorothy Gustafson of Rolla, ND; and his daughter-in-law Becky Gustafson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
