He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Thompson and Pearl Thompson (Johnson); his grandson Derek Thompson; his brother Dean Thompson; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Grenier.

He is survived by: his children, Todd Thompson (Lisa) of Towner, Tina Kessel of Wilton and Travis Thompson (Julie) of Rolette; his grandchildren, Zachary Thompson (Makayla), Alexis Entze (Evan), Dallas Havig (Chance), Austin Havig (Ashley), Braden Kessel and Aaron Thompson (Kensie); his stepgrandchildren, Jesse Azure (Ryan), Jaden Pfeifer and Jalen Pfeifer; his great grandchildren, Bralyn, Blaik, Jaemeson, Landrie, Alyvia, Adalyn, Anderson Havig, Carter Thompson, Aiden, Cade Thompson, Callie, Cameron Thompson, Kord and Kaulder Entze; his siblings, Terry Thompson (Marlene) of Washburn and Betty Grenier of Rolette; and his siblings-in-law, Donald "Skeezix" Lentz (Julie) of Rolla and Charlotte Thompson of Rolette. He is also survived by his family, his friends.
