He was predeceased by: his parents, John Arstein and Christine Arstein (Eikevik); and his siblings, Thomas, Marvin Arstein and Ida Vrem (Verl).
He is survived by: his children, Diane Arstein of Rolette, Richard Arstein (Nancy) of Rolette and JoAnn Freeman (Scott) of Neepawa, Manitoba; his grandchildren, David Arstein (Joy), Emma Arstein, Jaya Freeman (Russ Graf), Jonah Freeman and Siri Freeman; his great grandchild Rosie May Graf; and his brother-in-law Ole Teigen (Bonnie) of Cottage Grove, MN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
