He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hickel and Lois Hickel (Sayles); and his siblings, Louella, Kenneth, Elroy, Ione and Shirley.
He is survived by: his wife Dolly Ann Margaret Henning; his children, Kelly (Lori) of Bismarck, ND, Todd (Chelsea) of Minot, ND, Hal of Ray, ND, Kurt (Ema) of Pinal Villa, Mexico and Charlene of Ray, ND; his grandson Christopher (Amra); his great grandchildren, Braxton, Benji and Sophia; his grandchild AJ (Courtney); his great grandchild Kohen of Ray; his son Joseph of Ray; his grandchildren, Abby (Wyatt) of Williston, Lydia, Madelyn, Gretchen and Joleah; and his siblings, Mildred of Fairview, MT and Bud of Washington, UT. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
