It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Volk of Raleigh, North Dakota, born in Flasher, North Dakota, who passed away on July 30, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elias Volk and Agnes Volk (Braun); his sons-in-law, James Gusaas and Ed Uriell; his siblings, Baseleus (Ann), Amandus, Edwin, Michael, Melchior (Elaine), Leo and Anna Moran (Gerry); and his parents-in-law, John Vetter, Pius Braun, Adam Braun, Alan Schriock, Ernest Scheetz, Magdelina Hellman (Jack), Catherine Erhardt (Joe), Mary Hopfauf, Eva Bernhardt (Adam), Anton Hopfauf (Frances), Adam Hopfauf, Rose Bohl (Xavier), Ralph Hopfauf, Genevieve Eckroth (Pete), Leo Hopfauf (Josephine), Perpetua Bullinger (Tony), George Bohl, Agnes Eckroth (Ray) and Loretta Hopfauf.
He is survived by: his wife Clementine Hopfauf; his children, Clair (Kathy), Claud, Rusty, Clarence, Randy, Jeffry (Jeanie), Joletta Gusaas, Jordan (LaMae), Deven (Alla), Denise Uriell, Dion (Donna), Loren (Jerri), Lowell (Rachael) and Lora Bare (Gary); his siblings, Adam Volk, Magdelene Vetter, Sr., Maria Volk, Lydia Braun, Angeline Braun, Theresa Schriock, Evelyn Miller (Ervin), Valentina Bruington and Barbara Scheetz; and his parents-in-law, Florian Hopfauf (Georgia), Frances Bohl and Kathryn Hopfauf.
Gene requested memorials to Sr. Thomas Welder Scholarship fund promoting servant leadership.
