It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helen Olivia Sharpe of Portland, North Dakota, born in Mayville, North Dakota, who passed away on January 11, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Gotteberg and Hilda Gotteberg (Langager); her husband Douglas Sharpe; her son Howard Sharpe; and her siblings, Ruth Howard, Ida Edberg, Alice Eiken, John Gotteberg and Ray Gotteberg.
She is survived by: her daughters, Laura Norby (Ken) of Pembina, ND and Karen Hamre of Devils Lake, ND; her daughter-in-law Karen Sharpe of Fargo, ND; her grandchildren, Shannon Dettling (Donovan), Brian Sharpe, Matthew Sharpe, Michael Norby (Fallon), Allison Lutman (Tyson), Ashley DeMarais (Josh) and Kimberly Norby; her great grandchildren, Trevor, Jacob Dettling, Camden, Caleb, Claire DeMarais, Veda Blank, Bodee and Naavi Norby; her sister Edith Ingebretson; and her sister-in-law Lorraine Gotteberg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Portland Golden Age Club.
