He was predeceased by: his parents, Evarist and Stanny; and his brothers, Theodore and Kenneth. He is survived by: his brothers, Ronald (Patricia) and Ernie (Julie); his aunt Delores Burianek; and his close friend Sandy Harthan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (1515 Western Ave, Grafton, ND 58237). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

“Evie’s Grandfather George Barta Sr., and my Grandmother Margaret Novak, were half-siblings. Their Father, Wenzel Barta a/k/a Vaclav Barta was our Great Grandfather. Evie and I were also high school classmates and members of the last class of the Walsh County Agricultural School. He was a kind and gentle soul and I am sure that all of those who had the good fortune to have known him will greatly miss him. Rest in Peace my classmate and cousin. Gary Ramsey”
