He is survived by: his former wife Judith Stringer; his wife Judith Johnson of Parshall; his children, Wayne Johnson of Mississippi, Faye Threadgill of Mississippi, Scott Johnson (Wanda) of Minot, Greg Johnson (Janie) of Parshall, Keith Johnson (Judith) of Parshall, Sara Pennington (Steven) of New Town and Renae Ripley (Daniel) of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Aaron Brown, Autumn Stegall, Crystal Johnson, Jamie Plume, Nick Rabbithead, Stephanie Smith, Jordan Johnson, Alex Pennington and Chance Ripley; his siblings, Ervin Johnson (Leone) of La Center, WA and Ramona Locken (Lyle) of New Town; and his sisters-in-law, Maxine Juelich (Ben) of Minot, Gayle Folden (Clayton) of New Town and Jill Stringer of New Town. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
