He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Almen and Emma Almen (Hove); and his siblings, Lynn and Avanelle. He is survived by: his wife Betty Nelson of Park River, ND; his children, Jeff (Sandra), Susie Mitz (Bruce) of Minot, ND, Jim of Laguna Beach, CA, Rose Lauer (AJ) of SeaTac, WA, Mary Goehle (Dave) of Minnetonka, MN and Dean (Gwen); and his sisters-in-law, Mavis Almen of Grafton, ND, Carol Nelson and Meadow. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Altru Hospice or the Park River Good Samartian Center.
