It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Stan Hokana of Oakes, North Dakota, who passed away at the age of 76, on January 25, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Hokana and Lois Hokana; his father-in-law Otto Lanz; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Lanz and Carl Lanz.
He is survived by: his wife Cyndy Lanz; his children, Jennifer Knutson (Jay), Cameron Swearingen (Jason), Brooke Hansen (Chad) and Kaitlyn Nelson (Tony); his grandchildren, Karlie Sitzler (Tim), Kollen Knutson, Elijah Swearingen, Noah Swearingen, Ellen Hansen, Dylan Nelson, Hillia Hansen and Emmy Nelson; his great grandchildren, Krew, Kannen and Kamree Sitzler; his siblings, Linda Hokana (Don Miller), John Hokana (Cheryl), Jean Hokana (Marly Konstant) and Carol Hokana (Nick Bonifanti); and his in-laws, LaVerne Lanz (Brenda), Cara Tangen and Darlys Lanz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church (821 Hickory Ave, Oakes, ND 58474). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Stan Hokana Opportunity Fund for Student-Athletes at the Oakes Public School.
