He is survived by: his father Weldon Blada of Newburg; his daughter Alicia Smith (Taylor); his grandchildren, Liam, Harper Smith (Roxanne Westbrook) of Fargo, ND and Northwood; his siblings, Kent Blada (Jean) of Belle Plaine, MN, Diane Lindquist of Bottineau, Joan Arden (Ken) of Bottineau and Brenda Blada of Bottineau; his brothers-in-law, Robert Lesmann and Gordy Lindquist of Bottineau; and his nieces and nephews, DeAnn Arden-Bahn (Jeff), Kendra Meschke (Cal), Anthony Lindquist (Stacey) and Ryan Lindquist.
