He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Birklid and Ruth Birklid (Opegaard); his sisters, Carole Hanson and Marilyn Minton; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Minton.
He is survived by: his wife Iverne Belling; his children, Holly Trzpuc (Jeff), Robert Birklid (Vickie) and Eugene Birklid (Katie); and his brother-in-law Leland Hanson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
