It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Miriam Smith of New Town, North Dakota, who passed away on April 1, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Solomon Ray and Sarah Bird Bear (Yellow Wolf); her husband Jefferson "Buddy" Smith II; her sons, Jefferson B. Smith III (Junior) and Kelly N. Smith; and her sister Annette Packineau Benson.
She is survived by: her friend Trilby Deserly; her grandchildren, Molly and Marc Jr.; her children, Kathleen De La Rosa of Albuquerque, NM, Gloria Huff of New Town, Keath Smith (Joan) of New Town and Marc T. Smith of New Town; and her adoptive daughter Margie White Owl of New Town. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
