He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gardner and Serena Gardner (Bad Brave); his brother Johnny Old Man; his grandparents, John and Lillian Bad Brave (Newman); his uncle William Gardner; and his nephew Glenn Littlebird, Jr..

He is survived by: his brother Frank "Tex" Mad Plume; and his aunt Evelyn Gardner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
