With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joanne Beckman of New Salem, North Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Joanne left this world on February 16, 2025 at the age of 74, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Wherley and Frances Wherley (Pierce); her brother Patrick Wherley; and her in-laws, Carl, Sylvia Beckman (Bjelland), Tony Martinez, Allan Beckman, Jerry Rugroden, Ron Gunderson, Elsie, Cindy and Kay Beckman.
She is survived by: her husband Dale Beckman; her daughters, Erin Hannig (Wade) and Megan Riddle (Dan); her grandchildren, Brady Beckman (Jerilyn), Reed Beckman, Levi Hannig (Jocelyn), Gabby Hannig, Owen and Cole Riddle; her great grandchildren, Hattie, Birdie Beckman, Miloh and Baby Hannig; her siblings, Nancy Sivak (Tom) and Michael Wherley (Jude); and her in-laws, Judy Martinez, Cleo Blair (Rodney), Arne Beckman (Janet), Sally Rugroden and Sherry Gunderson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Pius Catholic Church (213 3rd St N, New Salem, ND 58563). A prayer will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to New Salem Dollars for Scholars or a charity of your choice.
