He was predeceased by: his grandfather Dennis Hoger; his uncle Jay Dee Schultz; his great-grandparent Louise; and his grandparents, Glen and Ester Dettmann.

He is survived by: his parents, Dale Hoger and Hazel Hoger; his wife Taryn Hoger; his children, Trace Dennis and Parker Loraine; his brother Wyatt (Morgan Vitek); his grandparents, Donna Hoger, Marlen and Sheila Christian; his aunts, Tania Christian, Marla and Betty Gerving (Glen Walden); his uncle Travis Hagemeister; his parents-in-law, Walter and Julie Small; his brother Shawn; his sister-in-law Hannah Small; and his niece Felicity Small.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to a fund set up for his children's college education at Dakota Community Bank.
