He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Kirby and Shirley Kirby; and his brothers, Nicholas and Steven. He is survived by: his children, Philip Palmer (Victoria), Erin DePrater (Victor) and Amber Johnson (Elrond); his grandchildren, Rosalie, Nathan (Serenity), Madison, Anastasia, Tobias, Robbie, Kenny, Alaina, Gabby, Jazzy and Kylee; his son Hudson; the mother of his children Lisa Ogden (Darryl); his brother David Kirby (Jan); his sister-in-law Kathy; and his close friends, John Parrot (Phylis) and Chuck Richards (Debbie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
